Peter Cavaciuti: Inner Worlds
Our new exhibition for the month of July, showcasing the stunning paintings of Peter Cavaciuti
New exhibition opening in July 2022!
We are pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Peter Cavaciuti, brush painter and tea master based in Cambridge, UK.
Peter is a professional artist and lecturer, and studied Chinese and Japanese painting under the students of Xu Beihong. His continued research and study in Japanese culture and aesthetics, especially Chado (The Way of Tea) and Zen, have contributed greatly to this field. Peter has been teaching for over 30 years and has exhibited at the Royal Academy, Summer Exhibition, and Royal Watercolour Society. He regularly has art shows in both Europe and Asia.
Peter’s artworks span delicately inked pine trees and petals, to pomo (“splashed ink”) mountainous scenes, with traditional figures and creatures interspersed across his many artworks. Having learnt from some of the masters of Chinese art, Peter skilfully draws from Chinese, Japanese and western influences to create his masterpieces on traditional paper. Our exhibition features ten of his original works, alongside prints for sale both in the shop and online. These prints are reproduced on handmade Himalayan paper, and are available in the art store section of our online shop. To learn more about Peter’s influences and artistic processes, check out the interview we did together in April 2022. More of Peter’s work can be found on his website, and he will also be taking part in Cambridge Open Studios in July 2022.
