编者按
中国的甲骨文是一种象形文字，重在表情达意，能够从外观形状探知其含义。英国诗人、文学家，剑桥徐志摩诗歌艺术节的理事会理事Lucy Hamilton（露西·汉密尔顿）非常热爱中国的传统文化，她曾连续几年随康河出版社编辑团队一同前往中国参加文化交流活动。
在结束了2019年的中国江西省抚州之行后，她以中国古代文字和《易经》中的卦象为媒，创作了诗歌Messengers（《信使》）。未济卦是《易经》六十四卦的最后一卦，以未能渡河为喻，阐明物不可穷、事业未竟的道理。

在回味中国文化之旅的同时，Lucy也号召大家像小蜜蜂一样，齐心协力，互相作为彼此传递好消息的使者，早日回归到自由快乐的生活当中。接下来，就请欣赏露西为我们朗诵她的诗歌Messengers（《信使》）。中文版由中国著名诗人胡弦先生朗诵。

How apt it is that this upper pictogram could be an insect
the oracle bone drawing not tree but a bee’s exoskeleton
the first two upwardly curving strokes not branches
but forelegs| the second not twigs but middle legs
the downward arching lines not roots but hind limbs
How fitting that the lower images of a river and a boat
symbolise people pulling together to overcome a crisis
of even global proportions| Here on the steep tea terraces
I won’t tell the latest sickness or bereavement nor yet
the recent extinctions| I want to imitate the bees
to be an envoy of the visible to where there is neither a here
nor a beyond but the great unity| Soon they will fly out
from the workers’ box| brush yellow dust into tiny baskets
as they hum in the shrubs| pollinating sweet-scented flowers
I touch a pale tea bud| plump as a bumble bee’s abdomen
thinking about the side of life that is turned away from us

眼前这甲骨象形图，初看上部分以为树
实则为蜂之躯干，细品顿觉形象至极
第一笔向上曲线并非树枝，乃昆虫前足
第二笔曲线也非树木细枝，乃昆虫中足
第三笔向下曲线绝非树根，乃昆虫后足
象形图下半部分河流与船只共行，栩栩如生
寓意人们同舟共济，不惧全球危机
在这片种植茶叶的高山上
不愿过多谈及近期病痛或生离死别
想成为蜜蜂
成为一名使者，号召大家不分远近你我
齐心协力
不久蜜蜂将飞离蜂巢，为花蕊抹上淡黄粉末
嗡嗡奔波于灌木草丛，给芬芳花朵传播授粉
我摸了摸那发白的茶叶枝芽，丰满犹如蜂之腹部
转念想起生活那正离我们远去的另一面

诗歌作者
露西·汉密尔顿（Lucy Hamilton），诗人、文学编辑与写作导师。2008年至2018年参与主编《长诗杂志》（Long Poem Magazine）。她在诗歌学校和剑桥大学开展关于诗歌的讲座，同时也是一名诗歌创作导师。目前是康河出版社的资深文学编辑，因工作关系曾多次到访中国。
露西共出版三部作品集，2012年由Shearsman出版社出版的《跟踪者》（Stalker）入围英国前进诗歌奖最佳诗集奖。露西·汉密尔顿从自己的中国之行和阅读Alfred Huang译著英文版《易经》得到灵感，创作了一些诗歌，这些作品已于近期发表。作品《信使》（Messengers）被评为《阿耳忒弥斯》（Artemis）杂志2020年度一等奖。
露西是剑桥康河出版社的老朋友与资深同事，曾多年参与主持徐志摩诗歌艺术节，任诗歌艺术节理事会理事。
Lucy Hamilton taught English to Chinese students for seven years at Ashford School, Kent. She co-edited Long Poem Magazine from 2008 to 2018, has taught poetry workshops for The Poetry School and Cambridge University, and is a poetry mentor. She works freelance for Cam Rivers Publishing and has enjoyed several work-related visits to China. Lucy has published three collections including Stalker (Shearsman, 2012), shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. She has recently published poems which draw upon her experiences in China and on Alfred Huang’s translation of the I Ching. ‘Messengers’ won First Prize in the 2020 Artemis competition.

胡弦，1966年出生于江苏徐州，现居南京，为《扬子江诗刊》执行主编，著名诗人、散文家，出版诗集《阵雨》（2015）、《十年灯》（2015）、《沙漏》(2016)、《不归家的人》（2016）、《空楼梯》(2017)。
曾多次获全国大奖，如《诗刊》“新世纪十佳青年诗人”称号（2009）、第三届闻一多诗歌奖 （2011）、徐志摩诗歌奖（2012）、柔刚诗歌奖（2014）、《诗刊》年度最佳诗人奖（2014）、腾讯书院最佳诗人奖（2016）、花地文学奖年度诗人（2017）、《十月》文学奖（2018）、《星星诗刊》年度诗人奖（2018）、鲁迅文学奖（2018）。他的作品被翻译成英，法，俄和韩文等多国文字。
