编者按
木棉，是一种在热带及亚热带地区生长的落叶大乔木，也是中国广州市的市花。当天气还在乍暖还寒之际，木棉已经染红了半边天，成了春日里“最靓的仔”。他先热热场，破个冰，让昏睡了一个冬天的大自然恢复些生气，刚巧为那些娇生惯养的“花姑娘们”多争取些时间，免得辜负了这韶华。
瞧那坚韧挺拔的身板，抵挡不住的生命力，以及在逆光的阴霾中向阳而生的气魄，怕是没有一种植物像木棉那样热爱生命了，难怪引得人们叫它一声“英雄树”。
今天，我们就跟着来自广州的著名诗人杨克，共同欣赏他的诗作《逆光中的那一棵木棉》。这首诗歌的英文版，将由徐志摩的曾孙女徐文慈 Alexandra (Alle) Hsu女士朗诵。徐文慈女士曾多次参与剑桥徐志摩诗歌艺术节，但这是她第一次参与云上读诗会，与广大的海内外诗友们见面。

梦幻之树 黄昏在它的背后大面积沉落
逆光中它显得那样清晰
生命的躯干微妙波动
为谁明媚 银色的线条如此炫目
空气中辐射着绝不消失的洋溢的美
诉说生存的万丈光芒
此刻它是精神的灾难
在一种高贵气质的涵盖中
我们深深倾倒
成为匍匐的植物
谁的手在拧低太阳的灯芯
惟有它光焰上升
欲望的花朵 这个季节里看不见的花朵
被最后的激情吹向高处
我们的灵魂在它的枝叶上飞
当晦暗渐近 万物沉沦
心灵的风景中

Tree of dreams as the expanse behind it sinks into twilight
Its backlit shape takes on a special clarity
There is a hint of swaying in its living upper limbs
For whom this loveliness these eye-catching pastel lines?
Overflow of lingering beauty radiates into the air
Telling its tale of survival as far as light reaches
In this moment’s cataclysm of the spirit
Enveloped in an aura of nobility
A tree toward which we lean admiringly
On the point of crawling in supplication
Whose hand is turning down the sun’s lamp-wick?
Only its flames are still leaping
Blossom of desire this season’s invisible flower
Being blown toward high places by the final passion
My soul flies on the branch tips
As gloom closes in all living things sink into it
In the scenery of the spirit
The silhouette one presents means everything

杨克是当代汉语诗人中一以贯之具有个人化历史想象力和求真意志的诗人，其城市诗歌写作开启了某种意义上的主体性。30多年来，他的现代诗走在“另一条大道上，那里有广阔的情感和传统的支撑，诗人可以大踏步走在人群前面”。
在人民文学出版社和台湾华品文创有限公司等出版《杨克的诗》《有关与无关》《我说出了风的形状》等11部中文诗集、4部散文随笔集和1本文集，日本思潮社、美国俄克拉赫马大学出版社、西班牙萨拉戈萨大学出版社等出版多种外语诗集，诗文收入《中国新文学大系》《中国新诗百年大典》等400种选本。主编《中国新诗年鉴（1998-2017每个年度）》《给孩子的100首新诗》等。
他曾获英国“剑桥徐志摩诗歌奖”、罗马尼亚出版版权总公司“杰出诗人奖”，广东鲁迅文艺奖、首届双年十佳诗人奖等外国、中国大陆和台湾文学奖十多种。在深圳美术馆等举办过诗书个展。现为广东外语外贸大学创意写作中心主任、云山讲座教授，北京大学诗歌研究院研究员。系中国作家协会主席团委员，中国诗歌学会会长。

徐文慈 Alexandra (Alle) Hsu，导演、制片人，来自美国加利福尼亚州，获得纽约大学帝势艺术学院艺术硕士学位，和斯克利普斯学院文学学士学位。
她的本科毕业作品《女性：从文化革命到资本主义革命》（Women: Cultural Revolution to Capitalist Revolution）获波莫纳学院艺术博物馆2011年“中国洞察力”奖项。她制作的短片《苏菲》（Sophie）和《回家的路》（Our Way Home）在全球20多场电影节上展出，其中包括奥斯汀电影节、福伊尔（北爱尔兰）电影节、好莱坞短片电影节等奥斯卡官方指定电影节首映式。
徐女士目前正在进行另外两部短片作品的后期制作。她曾是SFFILM电影馆成员，在SFFILM的支持下成功制作第一部故事片《女王》（Queens）；在第20届APAture艺术节中作为卡尔尼街工作室（Kearny Street Workshop）杰出电影艺术家得到美国NBS新闻（NBC）专题报道；并受邀为美国CBS领导力挑战赛执导短片。她于去年加入美国华美协进社青年领袖圈，致力于促进中美友好交往关系。
徐文慈女士，也是中国著名诗人徐志摩与他的第一位妻子张幼仪的曾孙女。她和家人曾多次前往英国参与剑桥徐志摩诗歌艺术节。
Alexandra (Alle) Hsu is a director/producer from Orange County, CA. She received her MFA from NYU Tisch and BA from Scripps College. Her undergraduate thesis documentary “Women: Cultural Revolution to Capitalist Revolution” received the 2011 Pomona College Museum of Art “China Insights” Grant. Her short films “Sophie”and “Our Way Home” screened at over 20 film festivals worldwide, including premieres at Oscar-qualifying festivals Austin, Foyle (Northern Ireland), and Holly Shorts.
She is currently in post-production on two additional short films.
Alle was a resident in the SFFILM Film House Residency, where SFFILM has supported the development of her first feature, Queens.
Alle was also highlighted on NBC News as the Kearny Street Workshop Featured Artist in Film at the 20th APAture Arts Festival (SF). She was selected to direct a short film for the CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge. With her interest in US-China relations, she became a member of the China Institute Next Gen Leaders Circle last year.
