编者按
在本期读诗会中，我们一起来欣赏徐志摩的诗歌《海韵》。此诗发表于1925年8月17日的《晨报·文学旬刊》，是徐志摩所著的一首叙述型的抒情诗。
大海，广阔又神秘，惹人遐想，令人向往。单纯的女孩儿执着地追随着它，想要与之嬉戏，幻想着美好幸福的画面。这样初生牛犊不怕虎的年轻人，怀揣着浪漫的理想主义，一次又一次地试图逆风前行。殊不知浪花来得迅猛，丝毫不留情面，似乎还在责备她的不自量力。最终，一切被大海吞没，在黑暗中化为寂静。
大海与现实的生活一样，充满着探索的机会，但也可险象丛生，危机四伏。诗人志摩借用这样叙事型的一个虚拟的故事，抒发了他复杂的情感，也映射了他在现实生活中所感受到的人生滋味。他和海边的女郎一样，曾同样奋力的逆风前行，也曾同样的经历了慌张与失望，最终“蹉跎”、“虚度”了时光。
今天，我们邀请中国知名女诗人潇潇，和美国学者、诗人与翻译家多萝西·特兰齐·伯奈特（Dorothy Trench Bonett）女士，分别为大家朗诵这首诗的中文和英文版本。

Why are you reluctant to leave
The sea shore this evening?
Go home, maiden, go home!”

I love the feeling of the evening breeze.”
On the beach, in the evening mist
There’s a maiden with the wind in her hair
Lingering; lingering.
“Maiden, maiden with wind-blown hair
Why do you stay here
On the chilly sea-strand?
Go home, maiden! Go home!”
“Ah, no. Hear now my song.
Great sea, I sing and you accompany.”
In the starlight, in the cold breeze
A young girl’s pure music lightly pours forth,
Rings high and low.
“Maiden, bold maiden
Now the sky pulls up like a black curtain
Now there are frightening winds and waves
Go home, maiden! Go home!”
“Ah, no. Watch me dance here
Like a sea gull diving into the waves.”
In the twilight, on the beach
The slender shadow of a maiden
Twists and whirls.
“Listen to the great ocean in its rage.
Go home, maiden! Go home!
Look at the high waves, ravening like beasts.
Go home, maiden, go home!”
“Ah, no. The waves are not coming to swallow me.
I love the motion of the mighty sea.”
Into the water, into foaming waves
A panicked little girl stumbles. And--
Falls—
“Maiden, where are you? Maiden?
Where is your song, so loud and clear?
Where is your graceful shadow?
Bold maiden, where?”
Blackness of night swallows the brilliant stars
There is now, on this beach, no radiance
Waves overwhelm the shore, no dancing on the strand—
Gone is the maiden.

诗歌作者
徐志摩（1897年1月15日—1931年11月19日），现代诗人、散文家，新月派代表诗人，新月诗社成员。
1921年，在他于英国留学期间，从伦敦政治经济学院转入剑桥大学国王学院当访问学生，研究政治经济学。在剑桥两年，他深受西方教育的熏陶及欧美浪漫主义和唯美派诗人的影响，与不少英国的学者和文学家结下了深厚的友谊。
他回到中国之后，于1923年成立新月社。曾任北京大学、光华大学（华东师范大学前身）、大夏大学（华东师范大学前身）、南京中央大学（1949年更名为南京大学）和北京女子师范大学教授。
徐志摩的一生，执着的追求爱、自由与美。他在中国文坛上曾相当活跃，留下了不少经典作品。他也为中英两国的文学与文化交流作出了杰出贡献，这种影响力延续至今，通过在他的母校剑桥大学国王学院中所竖立的诗碑，修筑的徐志摩花园，举办一年一度的剑桥徐志摩诗歌艺术节，以及每年成千上万来到康河畔的中国访客。
他的代表作品有《再别康桥》，《翡冷翠的一夜》、《巴黎的鳞爪》等。

潇潇，中国当代著名诗人、画家。出版的中外文版诗集主要有：《踮起脚尖的时间》《比忧伤更忧伤》《潇潇的诗》（中西班牙语诗集2018年在古巴出版，亚瑟夫•阿南达译）《另一个世界的悲歌》（罗马尼亚语诗集2016年在罗出版，霍里亚·戈贝译）《忧伤的速度》（韩语诗集2019年在韩国出版，朴宰雨译）、《薏米的种子》（德语诗集2021年在奥地利出版，顾彬译）等。
其作品被翻译成英、日、法、韩、越南、波斯、阿拉伯、孟加拉语等多国语言。其绘画作品参加了“中国当代诗人艺术展”；“中国当代文人书画展”等。长诗《另一个世界的悲歌》被评为九十年代女性文学代表作之一，被翻译成的英文（欧阳昱译）于2018年5月在英国剑桥《长诗杂志》（Long Pome Magazine）头条全文发表。
曾获多项国内外诗歌大奖。如闻一多诗歌奖、“百年新诗”特别贡献奖、《诗潮》年度诗歌奖、《北京文学》诗歌奖、2018年十佳诗人、罗马尼亚阿尔盖齐国际文学奖等。潇潇是第一个获得此奖的亚洲人，并被授予罗马尼亚荣誉市民。2020年潇潇被收入欧洲最大的文学词典：外国当代文学批评词典（Kritisches Lexikon für fremdsprachige Gegenwartsliteratur (KLfG digital 顾彬撰写）。
Xiao Xiao is a Chinese poet and painter. Her poetry collections include Time Stands on Its Tiptoes; Even More Grief-filled Than Grief; Xiao Xiao's Poems ( a bilingual Chinese-Spanish edition; Elegy for Another World (Romanian translations); The Speed of Grief (Korean translations); The Seeds of Job's Tears (German translations), and others. Her work has also been translated into English, Japanese, French, Vietnamese, Arabic, Bengali, and other languages. Her paintings were part of exhibits such as "Art by Contemporary Chinese Poets," and "Contemporary Chinese Literati Painting and Calligraphy Exhibit." Her long poem, "Elegy for Another World," was named by critics as a representative work of Chinese women poets in the 1990s. Ouyang Yu's English translation of the poem was published in the journal, Long Poem Magazine, in England.
Xiao Xiao is the recipient of numerous awards in China and abroad, including the Wen Yiduo Poetry Prize, 100 Years of Modern Poetry: Special Contribution Award, Poetry Currents Annual Poetry Award, Beijing Literature Poetry Award, 2018 Ten Outstanding Poets Award, and the Tudor Arghezi International Literature Award in Romania. She is the first Chinese recipient of this award, and Romania made her an honorary citizen. In 2020, Xiao Xiao was included in Europe's largest literary dictionary, Dictionary of International Literary Criticism (Kritisches Lexikon für fremdsprachige Gegenwartsliteratur). Her entry was written by Wolfgang Kubin.

多萝西·特兰齐·伯奈特(Dorothy Trench Bonett)，曾在耶鲁大学、巴黎大学、中国台湾等地学习中文，获耶鲁大学东亚研究文学硕士学位，目前在美国圣玛丽山大学教授中国语言与文学。她翻译的徐志摩诗歌在Delos等文学杂志发表，其中一部作品获Der Hovanessian优秀奖。
多萝西·特兰齐·伯奈特编著的图书《阔的海与空的天》（Broad Sea and Empty Sky），收录了不少徐志摩所著诗歌和散文的英文版，其包含徐志摩英文版作品的数量，是目前图书市场同类图书中所收录最多的。该图书当前正在亚马逊平台进行预售。她的原创诗歌也曾获多项荣誉。
此外，多萝西·特兰齐·伯奈特还出版了中国童话故事英译集《修复天空》（Repairing the Sky）等作品。
Dorothy Trench Bonett studied Chinese at Yale (M.A. in East Asian Studies), at l’Universite de Paris and in Taiwan. She has taught Chinese language and literature at Mount St. Mary’s University. Her translations of Xu Zhimo have appeared in Delos and other literary magazines; one received Honorable Mention for the Der Hovanessian prize. Her book Broad Sea and Empty Sky, which contains the largest selection of Xu’s poetry and prose available in English, can be pre-ordered now on Amazon. She has won prizes for her original poems. Her other publications include Repairing the Sky, a collection of Chinese fairy tales.
